Prophetical Procedures

The Arcane Oracle paves a bridge between roleplayer and character, illuminating fate itself and whispering words through the otherworld. Beg caution, however, for the unknown beyond does not always yield truth, and lies may poison rather than reveal your future.

The Oracle allows roleplayers to communicate with their characters in the IC world for 10 coins per prophecy. Information passed through prophecy is considered valid IC knowledge.
Possible prophecies include revealing a plot, steering a relationship, advising an action, forewarning of a change you will enact such as transforming their appearance or upgrading their powers, an occupation they should pursue, a character they should meet or avoid, a guild they should enter, a fight they should initiate, or another idea you wish to seed.
Prophecies can be accidentally or intentionally false. For example, you might tell your character of a destined relationship you have plotted with another roleplayer, who then becomes inactive and thus eliminates the expected plot. Intentionally false prophecies are generally utilized for plot purposes.
Staff must accept your prophecy prior to its official transmission to ensure it is appropriate. For example, you cannot predict the outcome of a battle with another roleplayer's character unless they have explicitly agreed to your character's victory or defeat beforehand. You cannot reveal the private thoughts or feelings of another character, only their public actions or words from actual IC threads that have not been blocked by an item such as the alchemical potion "Seal." Exceptions apply for explicitly false prophecies, as they do not lend actual advantage.
Prophecies cannot be detailed or lengthy. They are meant solely to convey a gist and cannot exceed 15 words. Specific names may not be directly given, including character, guild, and business names. The entire message must pertain to a single, simple topic. Below are generic examples of potential prophecies to illustrate their general structure:

"The love of your life adorns blue in the Mezzanine."
"Your abilities will soon increase."
"Do not trust your husband, all is not as it appears."
"Seek out the man with scarred eyes, he holds information you require."
"Do not fight the woman of flame when challenged."

To give your prophecy, create a thread in the Arcane Oracle with the label "Prophecy" declaring the message you wish to pass, then post in Invocation for staff attention. If your prophecy involves an event that transpired in an IC thread, you must provide its link. Lastly, you must state if you are posting an intentionally false prophecy. If staff do not find your prophecy appropriate, you may rewrite the message until it is deemed acceptable.
Your prophecy may be corrupted upon delivery, rewritten with the opposite meaning or with nonsense. For example, a message stating "do not attend the full moon feast" might warp into "you must attend the full moon feast." Staff will roll a 6-sided dice to determine if your prophecy will be altered; dice face 1 means your prophecy will be rewritten with the opposite meaning, dice face 2 means your prophecy will be rewritten into nonsense, and dice faces 3-6 mean your prophecy will not be modified.
You may send your character 1 prophecy every 7 days.
