LIKES:Games:
"Life's too short to be so serious..."
Stal has a youth's mind and boundless energy. He wants to spend everyday on an adventure, whether it be capturing the sun or fending off his freedom from some silly humans. Stal tends to break realistic situations down into games, for simplicity of understanding and increased drive.
Leadership:
"Hey, I've got an idea..."
Stal adores the feeling of being in charge. He loves to call the shots, and is a surprisingly cunning strategist. Though Stal tends to shy away from responsibility, he loves to feel like he's a role model. It's a little bit of a narcissistic complex, but Stal's childish mind is unaware that the things it covets are the things Stal can never be.
Independence:
"No. No I don't think I will."
Stal is a stubborn one. He hates feeling like he's being ordered around, persuasion comes to no avail, and questions are always denied. Stal depends on himself for everything, and takes what he wants. He sees independence as the furthest form of development, and prides himself on being able to stand on his own. Not that he is mean about it. But he doesn't depend on anyone for anything, and no one depends on him.
Riddles:
"What always ends everything?"
Stal tends to over-think things - a lot. And while a great majority of the this trait is great, Stal seems to refuse to acknowledge the fact that he is a riddle. He can solve everything else with ease because he is able to look at it objectively. But when it comes to evaluating himself, things get much harder.
Disguises:
"I wonder if... under that mask... what your true face looks like..."
Stal had always fancied the actors, those able to adopt a new personality with the help of a few words, and maybe a couple battle moves. Disguises aid in protection, but also provide a new avenue of creativity and imagination. Stal has copious amounts of both, and so, naturally, it would only be a matter of time before he found his loves align with this category.
DISLIKES:Loneliness:
"Please, I didn't meant hurt your feelings! Don't leave!"
There is little much worse than being completely alone, in Stal's mind. It is a heavier blow than simple punishment - being alone leave Stal to his thoughts, and his thoughts tend to take rather wild twists and turns. So it is always safer, and much more preferable, to be accompanied with others, be them friends, enemies, or mere acquaintances. Anyone is better than nobody.
Weaknesses:
"Ugh. Just stop that - your not very good at it."
Stal is blunt and realistic. But he wishes he could be the best. The whole idea of morality is very upsetting to him. Stal hates that others are not able to excel in everything, and he continually tries to prove them wrong.
Bullies:
"You would stop if you knew who that was, and who I am..."
Being a horse of no particular height or prowess, Stal's fierce protective drive comes from his dissatisfaction with those who bully others. It is one thing to tease a friend, it is quite another to hurt a stranger with words. Stal hates those with a mean facade more than anything else he dislikes.
Responsibility:
"Ah, stop worrying."
Stal rejects the ideas of having a plan and a back-up plan and any sort of structure in his life. He prides himself on being able to support himself while not having a clue how or why he does it. There is no outline to his life, no goals, and no dreads. He lives from day to day in pure bliss, ignorant and happy as a child.
Adults:
"Don't go growing up. It sucks something out of you... something important!"
Stal admits that he is of an age to support himself, and that some might call this stage of his life adulthood. But he doesn't agree. Stal will always be a child in his heart and mind, the two places that matter. His needs are few and his wants are vast, and change with the wind. He is not ready to let himself grow up, and so he refuses to recognize it.
WEAKNESSES:Hypocritical:
"I would never do that!"
Stal is quite obsessed with perfection, but would never admit that fact to anyone else. And so much of his behavior conflicts with his words. His games spill over into reality, and Stal finds it very hard to keep any and all lies straight inside his own head, much less to appear honest to others.
Jealous:
"What a beautiful face... and to think... maybe I had that... once."
Stal can get quite jealous of others very quickly. He has a short-term mindset, and so what infatuates him one day might not be given any thought the next day. But when he wants something, thoughts of it consume him.
Over-analytical:
"What makes you happy? Do you think... that what you like... makes others happy?"
Stal tends to front things - he has a strong facade. But nasty comments and mean things DO affect him - just not visibly. They eat away at his mind, fight with his logic, and twist their way until they manifest into his "imaginary" friend's voice.
STRENGTHS:Innocent:
"But I... I only wanted to play a game."
Stal is a master of acting. He can portray anybody he chooses, and why shouldn't he? To him, life is a game. But the thing about games is that they end. In the end, Stal will always show his true colors, will always spill the secret, will always drop the wool. Though he loves his tricks, the best part is revealing to everyone that's he's fooled them. And in that sense, he is innocent as a lamb.
Protective:
"Are you talking about my friends? Because I think you better be mistaken."
Stal is insanely protective of those who he deems are this friends. It is a prestigious position, but once you've earned it, Stal would die for his friends. He is more loyal than any dog and fiercer than any mother who'd lost her children - a deadly combination.
Sly:
"Oh, that old thing? You'll never find it now."
Stal, for all his childish antics, is quite a clever brat. He keeps it quiet, but its an obvious fact to any of his friends. He adores puzzles and riddles, and though he doesn't believe he is able to keep anything secret, the truth is he truly does covet secrets.
FEARS:Being outcast:
"Hey! Hey wait for me! P- ...Please?"
Stal hates being left alone with only his thoughts more than anything. This is in part because of his past, but also in part because of his nature. He is not the nicest personality, though he is entertaining, he has no off switch. And because of this, he is afraid his friends will all desert him and never return.
Growing up:
"We don't have to tell them... they're just gonna say no anyways..."
Stal hopes to never loose his boundless energy and optimistic youth. His view of any and all adults is boring and responsible - the two things he detests when paired.
SECRETS:Schizophrenic:
"Ha! That's funny!"
Stal is technically schizophrenic - he talks to his "friend" constantly, however he is merely talking to his thoughts, and his thoughts respond to him. His "friend" is a manifestation of the darker aspects of his personality, of which he has not yet come to terms with. His mind is childish and divided, and so it may seem that he reflects aspects of a subject with multiple personality disorder, which is not the case.
Vanity:
"What are YOU looking at?"
Stal is secretly very VERY hypercritical about his appearance. Even among Alcyrstians, he knows he is unusual. His horns are stronger than a rhino's, and more than four times in quantity. His markings have no known meaning, though he is constantly getting questions about them. And yes, his hair really is that light color naturally - it almost glows in the dark some nights.
DREAMS:Find family:
"I don't remember... It's been an awfully long time..."
Stal is not his parents child by blood - it was assumed his mother died soon after, if not in childbirth, and his father must have abandoned her long before Stal's birth. It is unclear whether Stal's father even knows he is a father, and seeing as his mother's body was never found, Stal's linage is as mysterious as the dark side of the moon. However, this has not deterred him from attempting to search for them sometimes, whenever the drive hits him.
Lead a herd:
"I already know I'm the best but... well, why can't anyone else see it?"
Whether this is the main herd in Alcryst, or some sort of band of rouges and outcasts that he deems his closest friends, Stal hopes to one day lead a group of something.
KEY TRAITS:Outgoing:
"Let's play a game!"
Stal will always initiate conversations. He will always ask questions. He will always turn the focus away from himself. He finds a deep interest in everyone else because he is secretly afraid of himself, though parts of his mind refuse to accept that truth.
Childish:
"Of course I'm always up for a game!"
Curious and young. Those two words describe just about any child. Yet Stal is the epitome - he is forever a child in his own mind. No matter how old he grows, he personality and condition won't allow him do develop further.
Schizophrenic:
"What? You don't hear that?"
Though Stal has no idea he has schizophrenia, it is very apparent in his actions. He aims to be perfect, and his thoughts always seem to disagree with him. Since this has developed throughout his childhood, his mind has coped with it by leading him into delusions - the strongest and most easy comparison is an imaginary friend. Stal's "imaginary friend" is sometimes a part of him, sometimes multiple people, and it's shape changes from day to day.
Lost:
"Is this what happens to kids who wander?"
Though Stal may feel altogether in his mind, it is sometimes hard to see that when looking from the outside in. Stal has a bit of a wandering traveler syndrome - he is never much satisfied with staying in one place for too long. Adventure and exploration pump through his blood.
Persuasive:
"Wow! That looks quite scary! In fact, it doesn't even suit you at all..."
Stal is quite the smooth talker, and has experienced many things to draw from. He can see any situation from any angle, having usually been on both at one point or another. His childish imagination and strategic mindset are both key in this role.

DAM: Danube Bella Anita Halkias (aka. Dabelle)

SIBLINGS: Jayr Belanti Orion Eliopsi (aka. Jayr, Half-Brother)
OTHER:
HISTORY:
In the wild depths of the Alcrystian wilds, (the Wryweb region, to be specific) there once lived a pair of horses. They preferred each others company over their herds, but they we're loyal and honest folk, and happy together. Cletus, the stallion, and Danube, the mare, soon prepared for a third of their company, as Danube was heavy with child. However, in the darkness of the seasons changing, the herd suffered several deserters amidst the chaos of a challenge of the Domitan, and Danube and Cletus thought it best to retreat to the heart of the woods in order to raise their child in peace before exposing him to the rest of Alcryst's dramatics. And ergo, Jayr was born.
However, merely a few days after Jayr's birth, Cletus stumbled upon a strange sight - a newborn foal, completely without a mother. Curious, and overflowing with fatherly attentions, he brought the foal back to Danube and his son. The two took to each other immediately, and without many worries, they adopted him. After all, no one would be the wiser. Jayr's name had been a carefully planned affair, but Stal's name was more of a whirlwind, mainly created upon his first words.
When the little family finally returned to the herd, Jayr and Stal were as rambunctious and changing as two teenage boys could be. With the added pressures of the herd, friends and aspirations, the brothers began to differ even more greatly. Little spats turned into bigger, full-blown fights, and their parents grew silently worried. In one incredibly heated argument, Clatus stepped in to break it apart and ended up getting hit in the head. Ashamed and shocked, both boys calmed themselves, and Danube spent her energies nursing her love back to health. But even then, the calm did not last, and finally Danube's patience wore thin. She called her sons to her and described how they'd adopted Stal. She then turned them away, in hopes to make them grow up and accept each other.
Instead, Stal ran away, and Jayr claimed that if he ever came back, he'd drive him out again.
Stal has been on the run to this day.
