I. To register, click on "profile" to the bottom right of the cbox.
II. Match your cbox name with your ooc account's display name.
III. Alcryst is home to any and all, so please refrain from ignoring or excluding guests and members or forming cliques.
IV. No IC soliciation or advertisement.
V. It is impolite to pressure someone into posting if it seems to make them uncomfortable. Err on the side of caution whenever unsure.
VI. To let someone know you posted for them, please tag them in your thread so they receive proper notification, rather than alerting them each time with the cbox.
VII. If you feel ignored, do your best to involve yourself in the conversation. Should you still seem excluded despite your true efforts, message a staff member or use our Grievances board so we can help ensure this doesn't happen again, to you or anyone else. A friendly community is important to us! Don't worry, we will always be discreet and professional.
VIII. We are all friends and certainly want to share with one another, but please keep awkward topics to more appropriate areas, like Palaver, an instant messenger, or private messaging, whenever possible. Though there's no black-and-white description, such conversations may be overly personal, particularly dark or depressive, uncomfortably vulgar, clearly one-sided or unappreciated, highly controversial like religion or politics, combative, exclusive, or otherwise cause a sense of tension.
IX. If a guest or new member has a question, try to cite sources when answering (such as a link to an official thread) or let a staff member handle it. We don't want incorrect information passed along!
X. Should a troll or troublemaker post in the cbox, ignore them and promptly message a staff member so we can ban them. It's key that you don't respond to them! That just feeds the nasty little creatures.
XI. Don't ask a staff member to perform a staff task through the cbox. Task requests should be made through Invocation. Feel free to alert staff when you first post a new Invocation thread, though, as they might've missed it.
The golden rule is simple:
Treat everyone with the respect you desire.
Don't pester, pressure, or push...
And treat everyone with a smile. :)
I. You may post any Alcryst-related promotions in the adbox. This includes but is not limited to: plots, roleplay threads, IC or OOC contests/games, occupational services, wanted ads, shop sales, art/code requests/sales, herds, guilds, and anything else that requires other members to participate or view.
II. The adbox may only be used for advertisement. You may not respond in the adbox nor may you discuss its content in the cbox. Feel free to make use of threads and PMs to converse on the topic.
III. Advertisements must be posted by the account most logically related to them. For example, a stand sale would be posted by the merchant's account.
IV. There is a limit of 1 post per collective advertisement, meaning you have 256 characters to convey your message and may not continue onto a 2nd post. This includes links. Note: you can remove board/thread names from the end of Alcryst URLs and they will still function so long as the ID number is intact. For example, http://alcryst.forums.net/board/1 is a functioning link despite the removal of the board name.
V. The adbox shows up to 20 posts. There may only be 1 visible post advertising the same event at a time. Therefore, you may repost the same promotion once your original post expires. You may also delete and repost your advertisement, effectively bumping it to the top, once a week at most.
VI. To delete a post, click on the X to the far right of your post. To edit one, hover your cursor over your post and select the "edit" option that appears. Deleted posts disappear immediately without confirmation and are not retrievable. Edited posts say [edited] to the left of their timestamp.
VII.Classifieds contains a comprehensive list of what may be advertised as well as additional solicitation options.

Winter until ##/##/##
Winter has frosted Alcryst like the cold blush of a corpse, hardening every surface with frigid ice searing through the depths of its heart. The plants are lethargic and slow, the sky is desaturated and dull, and the wind is a violent gale ripping apart flesh and soil alike.

Morrene is known for its simplicity and its homegrown community. As it is paved with dirt and roofed with branches, so is it governed by neighbors. Established villagers form a tribunal around the warm hearth, guiding the town from within.
The judiciary is comprised of ordinary Morrenian citizens who have proven their ties to the community. They are in charge of governing Morrene through unity and communication. Through majority vote, they decide on matters such as:
Town events, celebrations, rituals, and traditions.
Achievements that deserve public recognition through memorials, ceremonies, holidays, parades, or simple declaration.
Laws that need to be added, changed, or removed along with their punishments and how they are to be enforced. Laws may pertain to residents, visitors, and even Morrene businesses and guilds. As these rules are decided by loyal villagers, they may be biased toward traditional Morrenian morals and belief systems. Unlike Faewin, punishments might be more creative or lenient, such as repayment, time spent in the wilderness, the stocks, parole, or charity work.
Conflicts that need resolution and other personal issues where the participants desire official intervention.
The council itself, such as establishing attendance requirements, standards for behavior, ranks within the town or judiciary, membership fees, even dress codes if the tribunal feels it necessary. The below basic membership requirements may not be altered, as they are set by the site.
To join the council, your character must meet the following requirements:
At least 36 years old.
A minimum of 50 total posts.
At least 60 days seniority, based on the acceptance date of their biography.
Prove residency by owning a business, guild, or personal estate in Morrene, or providing links to at least 40 completed threads that took place in Morrene.
Roleplayers may only have 1 character in the judiciary. If they desire to have a different character as a councilor, they must first remove their current councilor.
Should your character meet these requirements, you may initiate membership by posting here in the Consonant Mezzanine using the label "Joining" and giving proof of your character's residency, as described in the last qualification bullet above. Current councilors are recorded in the 2nd tab of this thread; new members are automatically added by staff, though judiciary members may update the list with other changes, such as retirements, by posting in Invocation.
If an existing character objects to your character's inclusion, they have 7 days to discuss their concerns with the other judiciary members. You may optionally request a meeting to address the council to defend yourself if desired. Once all who wish to share an opinion have spoken, the majority shall decide if they will grant you entry. If your membership is uncontested for 7 days, your character is accepted by default.
If you have been convicted of breaking any Morrene law, you are automatically disqualified from judiciary membership unless one of its existing councilors successfully advocates on your behalf and earns a majority vote.
Councilors may call for a majority vote if they feel a fellow councilor needs to be removed from the judiciary, providing reasoning such as severe inactivity or abuse of power. The defendant has 7 days to counter with a defense prior to the decision. Though it does not need to be heeded, regular citizens may also approach the council with concerns regarding a specific judiciary member. You may not attempt to remove a councilor that is away following the rules of Voids.
Judiciary sessions may be initiated by posting in the Consonant Mezzanine with the label "Meeting." Inform staff through Invocation so they will push a site-wide notification through the "Alerts Menu" at the bottom of Vital Links in the left-hand sidetable.
Meetings are run by the characters and do not receive staff intervention unless specifically requested. Duration, content, posting order, any requirements, and attendance are all managed by the councilors themselves. When they feel the meeting may conclude, post in Invocation for staff to close the thread.
Though staff do not require a specific reason for meetings to be called, councilors themselves may choose to regulate acceptable reasons, as only 1 meeting per 30 days is permitted.
Information that must be publicly available, such as laws or upcoming events, is detailed in the bulletin. Councilors may post in this thread with their own official city-wide information. Post authors are decided by the council, such as an elected author or multiple posts written by different authors covering specific content. The council is responsible for the upkeep of the bulletin and its regulation, such as if a majority vote is needed for alterations and punishments for councilors who do not follow editing regulations. The Faewin lawbook may be referenced and copied if desired.
Official site-wide information may not be significantly altered, such as a new rule added, unless staff are informed through Invocation to release a site-wide notification.
Councilors may post in Invocation to ask staff to release a site-wide notification with any relevant information necessary, such as a citizen summons or reminder.
