I. To register, click on "profile" to the bottom right of the cbox.
II. Match your cbox name with your ooc account's display name.
III. Alcryst is home to any and all, so please refrain from ignoring or excluding guests and members or forming cliques.
IV. No IC soliciation or advertisement.
V. It is impolite to pressure someone into posting if it seems to make them uncomfortable. Err on the side of caution whenever unsure.
VI. To let someone know you posted for them, please tag them in your thread so they receive proper notification, rather than alerting them each time with the cbox.
VII. If you feel ignored, do your best to involve yourself in the conversation. Should you still seem excluded despite your true efforts, message a staff member or use our Grievances board so we can help ensure this doesn't happen again, to you or anyone else. A friendly community is important to us! Don't worry, we will always be discreet and professional.
VIII. We are all friends and certainly want to share with one another, but please keep awkward topics to more appropriate areas, like Palaver, an instant messenger, or private messaging, whenever possible. Though there's no black-and-white description, such conversations may be overly personal, particularly dark or depressive, uncomfortably vulgar, clearly one-sided or unappreciated, highly controversial like religion or politics, combative, exclusive, or otherwise cause a sense of tension.
IX. If a guest or new member has a question, try to cite sources when answering (such as a link to an official thread) or let a staff member handle it. We don't want incorrect information passed along!
X. Should a troll or troublemaker post in the cbox, ignore them and promptly message a staff member so we can ban them. It's key that you don't respond to them! That just feeds the nasty little creatures.
XI. Don't ask a staff member to perform a staff task through the cbox. Task requests should be made through Invocation. Feel free to alert staff when you first post a new Invocation thread, though, as they might've missed it.
The golden rule is simple:
Treat everyone with the respect you desire.
Don't pester, pressure, or push...
And treat everyone with a smile. :)
I. You may post any Alcryst-related promotions in the adbox. This includes but is not limited to: plots, roleplay threads, IC or OOC contests/games, occupational services, wanted ads, shop sales, art/code requests/sales, herds, guilds, and anything else that requires other members to participate or view.
II. The adbox may only be used for advertisement. You may not respond in the adbox nor may you discuss its content in the cbox. Feel free to make use of threads and PMs to converse on the topic.
III. Advertisements must be posted by the account most logically related to them. For example, a stand sale would be posted by the merchant's account.
IV. There is a limit of 1 post per collective advertisement, meaning you have 256 characters to convey your message and may not continue onto a 2nd post. This includes links. Note: you can remove board/thread names from the end of Alcryst URLs and they will still function so long as the ID number is intact. For example, http://alcryst.forums.net/board/1 is a functioning link despite the removal of the board name.
V. The adbox shows up to 20 posts. There may only be 1 visible post advertising the same event at a time. Therefore, you may repost the same promotion once your original post expires. You may also delete and repost your advertisement, effectively bumping it to the top, once a week at most.
VI. To delete a post, click on the X to the far right of your post. To edit one, hover your cursor over your post and select the "edit" option that appears. Deleted posts disappear immediately without confirmation and are not retrievable. Edited posts say [edited] to the left of their timestamp.
VII.Classifieds contains a comprehensive list of what may be advertised as well as additional solicitation options.

Winter until ##/##/##
Winter has frosted Alcryst like the cold blush of a corpse, hardening every surface with frigid ice searing through the depths of its heart. The plants are lethargic and slow, the sky is desaturated and dull, and the wind is a violent gale ripping apart flesh and soil alike.

The meadow is a momentary break in the chaos of Wryweb's jungle, a breath of fresh air slipping through undulating grasses. But peace can only last so long and the thunder of hooves in battle often invade the serenity, herds joined together to strengthen their bonds and escalate their abilities through a test only the elite shall pass.
To qualify, the herd must have at least a Domitan, Mattrice, Omniren, and 1 Civire as described in Equine Hierarchy. All current herd members must have a collective total of at least 700 stats.
The species, appearance, and behavior of the generated predators is decided by the individual herds, often varying between groups. Regardless of discrepancies, they are always predatory, large, and powerful. The roleplayer of the herd's Domitan can choose which beasts their herd will fight and may select any approved creatures from Contribution, so long as the respective author allows it.
Herd members are not required by the site to engage in unification, but any who do not complete the process from beginning to end will be excluded from their herd's ability. Omission may be their own choice or that of their herd's leadership. The herd would need to undergo the entire process again to assimilate an excluded member if they wanted to include them in their existing unification.
Before entering the official battle, the herd must have at least 1 completed thread where every qualifying herd member participates in a practice session. Practice may include discussing strategy, a mock battle, educational sparring, and/or any other suitable preparation. Keep in mind the characters will not know IC which type of creature they are battling until the actual trial begins, so their practice may not include specific knowledge.
After at least 1 completed practice thread, the Domitan makes an IC post in Verdant Veldt summoning and rallying their herd, linking their practice thread, using the label "Unification," and then alerting staff through Invocation. Staff will post OOC to officially initiate the battle. If the Domitan has chosen a specific creature from Contribution as their opponent species, they must list it as an OOC note in their first post; otherwise, staff will select a beast at random. The Domitan's roleplayer must also notify the contribution creator by posting in their thread with a link to the unification thread.
Each participating herd member must make a 200-400 word IC post detailing their combat; though there is 1 creature for every herd member, they do not necessarily need to fight 1-on-1. These posts must exemplify total unity through joint attacks, cooperative defenses, and clear loyalty. If a staff member feels the battle did not thoroughly satisfy this criteria, they may judge it unsuccessful.
Participants must each make 2 IC combat posts following the established posting order (with the Domitan making 3 to include their initial rallying post). Each post must be made within 3 days of the preceding post, so if there were 10 herd members then your unification trial must be completed within 60 days. If anyone fails to post on time, does not make 2 acceptable posts, does not meet the minimum word count or greatly exceeds the maximum, or otherwise breaks these rules, the trial fails and the herd must wait 7 days to try again from the beginning.
Any horse that willingly or involuntarily leaves a unified herd forfeits their power, though the remaining members will retain it amongst themselves. A character forcibly captured by a different herd or by a human keeps their power with the original group unless they or their original herd chooses to sever the bond or if at least 30 days have passed without the captured horse returning to their unified herd, at which point it severs by default.
Any new equines that join a unified herd do not automatically gain the ability unless the entire herd redoes the unification process. Unless undergone again, the original members will keep their power and the newcomer(s) will go without; if a previously-successful herd retries the process and fails, they will lose their abilities, though a victory will mean there was no interruption for them.
Unified Domitans must update their Syndicate thread with their new status. It must include the name of all unified herd members and the link to their last successful trial.
Unification is marked in the mini-profile by a staff member via the addition or exclusion of the word "Unified" preceding their rank in the field that names their herd (under the "Extra" tab). If you gain or lose the status, you must inform staff through Invocation. Though it is staff that modifies your mini-profile, it is still your responsibility to ensure it remains updated and accurate.
Unified herd members may:
Sense where another unified herd member is located through any method they prefer, whether it be akin to echolocation, a physical sensation, a mental pull, or any other type of "radar." They may not see the character or gather any information beyond their current position within Alcryst. If sensing where a character is that you do not own and is not present in your thread, you must get permission from their roleplayer to choose where the character is located yourself or to request they choose for you. Characters may block other members from knowing their location at any time.
Emit a mental distress call by posting in Invocation; staff will then send a PM to both the IC and OOC account of every yunified herd member alerting them, so that they may respond as they deem fit. The call is like a wordless beacon.
Send mental messages between each other; no thought can be accessed that was not clearly intended for the herd members to receive, as this is more closely defined as a mental mail delivery system rather than mind-reading. Unified herds are given an exclusive board in Syndicate which only they and administrators can access. In this board, characters may post their mental messages and tag the IC and OOC accounts of the horses that should receive it; any not tagged are not considered privy IC. These mental messages are purely dialogue and do not include tone, emotion, or physical action, much like a written letter, nor will they count toward your post total or accumulate spirits.
