I. To register, click on "profile" to the bottom right of the cbox.
II. Match your cbox name with your ooc account's display name.
III. Alcryst is home to any and all, so please refrain from ignoring or excluding guests and members or forming cliques.
IV. No IC soliciation or advertisement.
V. It is impolite to pressure someone into posting if it seems to make them uncomfortable. Err on the side of caution whenever unsure.
VI. To let someone know you posted for them, please tag them in your thread so they receive proper notification, rather than alerting them each time with the cbox.
VII. If you feel ignored, do your best to involve yourself in the conversation. Should you still seem excluded despite your true efforts, message a staff member or use our Grievances board so we can help ensure this doesn't happen again, to you or anyone else. A friendly community is important to us! Don't worry, we will always be discreet and professional.
VIII. We are all friends and certainly want to share with one another, but please keep awkward topics to more appropriate areas, like Palaver, an instant messenger, or private messaging, whenever possible. Though there's no black-and-white description, such conversations may be overly personal, particularly dark or depressive, uncomfortably vulgar, clearly one-sided or unappreciated, highly controversial like religion or politics, combative, exclusive, or otherwise cause a sense of tension.
IX. If a guest or new member has a question, try to cite sources when answering (such as a link to an official thread) or let a staff member handle it. We don't want incorrect information passed along!
X. Should a troll or troublemaker post in the cbox, ignore them and promptly message a staff member so we can ban them. It's key that you don't respond to them! That just feeds the nasty little creatures.
XI. Don't ask a staff member to perform a staff task through the cbox. Task requests should be made through Invocation. Feel free to alert staff when you first post a new Invocation thread, though, as they might've missed it.
The golden rule is simple:
Treat everyone with the respect you desire.
Don't pester, pressure, or push...
And treat everyone with a smile. :)
I. You may post any Alcryst-related promotions in the adbox. This includes but is not limited to: plots, roleplay threads, IC or OOC contests/games, occupational services, wanted ads, shop sales, art/code requests/sales, herds, guilds, and anything else that requires other members to participate or view.
II. The adbox may only be used for advertisement. You may not respond in the adbox nor may you discuss its content in the cbox. Feel free to make use of threads and PMs to converse on the topic.
III. Advertisements must be posted by the account most logically related to them. For example, a stand sale would be posted by the merchant's account.
IV. There is a limit of 1 post per collective advertisement, meaning you have 256 characters to convey your message and may not continue onto a 2nd post. This includes links. Note: you can remove board/thread names from the end of Alcryst URLs and they will still function so long as the ID number is intact. For example, http://alcryst.forums.net/board/1 is a functioning link despite the removal of the board name.
V. The adbox shows up to 20 posts. There may only be 1 visible post advertising the same event at a time. Therefore, you may repost the same promotion once your original post expires. You may also delete and repost your advertisement, effectively bumping it to the top, once a week at most.
VI. To delete a post, click on the X to the far right of your post. To edit one, hover your cursor over your post and select the "edit" option that appears. Deleted posts disappear immediately without confirmation and are not retrievable. Edited posts say [edited] to the left of their timestamp.
VII.Classifieds contains a comprehensive list of what may be advertised as well as additional solicitation options.

Winter until ##/##/##
Winter has frosted Alcryst like the cold blush of a corpse, hardening every surface with frigid ice searing through the depths of its heart. The plants are lethargic and slow, the sky is desaturated and dull, and the wind is a violent gale ripping apart flesh and soil alike.

The inner reflection comes alive in Russet Aperture. Staring into your own eyes through the pure waters of the hidden paradise, your darkest secrets and harshest truths will manifest in a mirror of your own flesh. Most find it useful to summon such a synchronized partner, but some will learn that they truly are their own worst enemy.
In addition to paying 200 spirits to create a clone, your character must also meet the following qualifications:
It must be at least 180 days after their biography was accepted.
They must have at least 200 posts.
They must have at least 120 overall stats.
To create a clone, make a thread labeled "Cloning." Write a 200-400 word IC post describing your character viewing their reflection and any personal ritual they desire to invoke their true selves. Next, post in Invocation to alert staff. 200 spirits will be deducted from your IC account.
In an OOC note within your post, provide your character's "core trait," which is their deepest, most buried version of themselves. This is an emotion or characteristic that is at the very heart of their personality, even if it completely contradicts their outward behavior--a sweet, loving character may have an evil core trait if their most oppressed and driving force is dark, such as envy. The core trait must be a single term, such as "compassionate" or "fear of death," but may include a few paragraphs for further explanation if desired. It cannot contain more than 1 trait, emotion, or drive. For example, it might be "arrogance," but it cannot be "arrogance, greed, and hatred" combined.
For proof, provide a link to their biography, a tracker if they have one, and link to at least 5 IC posts where the character has demonstrated this core trait, whether in their actions, thoughts, emotions, or dialogue. To link to a specific post, hit "Options," select "Link to Post," and copy from "Link to this post in this thread." If the staff member feels your proposed core trait is not the most accurate choice, they will discuss it with you to arrive at the best solution. This may involve successfully convincing staff that you selected the proper trait or negotiating a new trait that is more fitting.
Every character is allowed only 1 clone at a time. This clone acts like a companion to your horse. They can be posted and used the same as a regular character except they do not have a personal account and they cannot be in a thread without their original counterpart, although the original may post without their clone's presence. They can communicate intelligently, move freely, and the original character cannot control them. However, their personality is rigidly composed of the core trait. They are less dynamic than a real character would be; they religiously adhere to their black-and-white disposition and do not develop over time or with experience. They are simply what they were made to be: an impression cast from the mold their original made in the moment they were summoned.
Clones do not receive any secondary effects from their original, such as: sensory powers, energy abilities, armor, horeseshoes, contribution specialties, protection tiers, bonds between companions, powers through soul binding and unification, herd ranks, and rebirth. They cannot be ridden by humans or act as a tamed horse. While they may have the aesthetic appearance of features made through the item functional, they cannot have any offensive, defensive, or evasive power it lends. For example, if the original character has wings through functional, then the clone can have wings but will be unable to fly. If desired, you may purchase and apply functional items to a clone in order to recreate the original's ability.
A clone may be dismissed at any point by posting in Invocation but then can only be recreated by repeating this process, including paying the fee. Recreated clones have the same personality as their previous version; therefore, the same OOC note of their earlier cloning process can be simply copied and pasted, though the IC section must always be unique. The only time a clone's core trait will change, thus requiring a new OOC note describing their core trait, is if the original character has evolved since they last completed the cloning process. For example, a truly life-changing experience, like a trauma, may be a significant enough catalyst to warrant inner evolution. You may choose if the memories of the previous clone are retained or if they should be removed for a fresh clone.
Core traits must be followed. If a clone is found to be fluctuating too drastically, staff will send a reminder of the clone's restraints. Clones may be permanently removed if there are repeated issues, but only in extreme and unreasonable cases.
The clone will mirror their original's appearance at the time of its summoning. If the original develops later on, such as gaining new scars or longer hair, the clone will not adapt and small differences will become visible between them. To update the clone's appearance, this process must be repeated.
Horses who have produced a successful clone have it indicated in their mini-profile by a staff member. If you choose to dismiss your clone, please post in Invocation so staff can remove this marker.
