I. To register, click on "profile" to the bottom right of the cbox.
II. Match your cbox name with your ooc account's display name.
III. Alcryst is home to any and all, so please refrain from ignoring or excluding guests and members or forming cliques.
IV. No IC soliciation or advertisement.
V. It is impolite to pressure someone into posting if it seems to make them uncomfortable. Err on the side of caution whenever unsure.
VI. To let someone know you posted for them, please tag them in your thread so they receive proper notification, rather than alerting them each time with the cbox.
VII. If you feel ignored, do your best to involve yourself in the conversation. Should you still seem excluded despite your true efforts, message a staff member or use our Grievances board so we can help ensure this doesn't happen again, to you or anyone else. A friendly community is important to us! Don't worry, we will always be discreet and professional.
VIII. We are all friends and certainly want to share with one another, but please keep awkward topics to more appropriate areas, like Palaver, an instant messenger, or private messaging, whenever possible. Though there's no black-and-white description, such conversations may be overly personal, particularly dark or depressive, uncomfortably vulgar, clearly one-sided or unappreciated, highly controversial like religion or politics, combative, exclusive, or otherwise cause a sense of tension.
IX. If a guest or new member has a question, try to cite sources when answering (such as a link to an official thread) or let a staff member handle it. We don't want incorrect information passed along!
X. Should a troll or troublemaker post in the cbox, ignore them and promptly message a staff member so we can ban them. It's key that you don't respond to them! That just feeds the nasty little creatures.
XI. Don't ask a staff member to perform a staff task through the cbox. Task requests should be made through Invocation. Feel free to alert staff when you first post a new Invocation thread, though, as they might've missed it.
The golden rule is simple:
Treat everyone with the respect you desire.
Don't pester, pressure, or push...
And treat everyone with a smile. :)
I. You may post any Alcryst-related promotions in the adbox. This includes but is not limited to: plots, roleplay threads, IC or OOC contests/games, occupational services, wanted ads, shop sales, art/code requests/sales, herds, guilds, and anything else that requires other members to participate or view.
II. The adbox may only be used for advertisement. You may not respond in the adbox nor may you discuss its content in the cbox. Feel free to make use of threads and PMs to converse on the topic.
III. Advertisements must be posted by the account most logically related to them. For example, a stand sale would be posted by the merchant's account.
IV. There is a limit of 1 post per collective advertisement, meaning you have 256 characters to convey your message and may not continue onto a 2nd post. This includes links. Note: you can remove board/thread names from the end of Alcryst URLs and they will still function so long as the ID number is intact. For example, http://alcryst.forums.net/board/1 is a functioning link despite the removal of the board name.
V. The adbox shows up to 20 posts. There may only be 1 visible post advertising the same event at a time. Therefore, you may repost the same promotion once your original post expires. You may also delete and repost your advertisement, effectively bumping it to the top, once a week at most.
VI. To delete a post, click on the X to the far right of your post. To edit one, hover your cursor over your post and select the "edit" option that appears. Deleted posts disappear immediately without confirmation and are not retrievable. Edited posts say [edited] to the left of their timestamp.
VII.Classifieds contains a comprehensive list of what may be advertised as well as additional solicitation options.

Winter until ##/##/##
Winter has frosted Alcryst like the cold blush of a corpse, hardening every surface with frigid ice searing through the depths of its heart. The plants are lethargic and slow, the sky is desaturated and dull, and the wind is a violent gale ripping apart flesh and soil alike.

Prayers in the Cathedral are concentrated--amplified into the ears of the gods, channeled through the blood of sacrifice. Though their attention is secured, there is no guarantee you will win their favor. Most commonly receiving nothing in return for your devotion, there are small opportunities for glorious blessings... and risks for horrifying curses.
Cattle must be purchased from farmers to slay as a blood sacrifice for the attention of the gods. Although the cattle must be sacrificed on the Cathedral's offering table, roleplayers are not obligated to write the details; you are free to "fade to black" or begin your post with the act already completed. If preferred, your character may also utilize the Cathedral's magic to cast a pain-free spell for the cattle to pass gently and comfortably.
Varying based on their greed, each god desires a different quantity of sacrifice and has differing chances for nothing, a blessing, or a curse. They also differ in preference of power; the better odds they offer, the higher overall stats they require from your character before you may pray to them. Their demands are as follows:
1 cattle sacrifice
Minimum of 10 overall stats
Dice faces 1-25 result in nothing
Dice faces 26-28 result in a curse
Dice face 29 results in a blessing
2 cattle sacrifice
Minimum of 30 overall stats
Dice faces 1-20 result in nothing
Dice faces 21 & 22 result in a curse
Dice face 23 results in a blessing
3 cattle sacrifice
Minimum of 50 overall stats
Dice faces 1-13 result in nothing
Dice face 14 results in a curse
Dice face 15 results in a blessing
4 cattle sacrifice
Minimum of 70 overall stats
Dice faces 1-8 result in nothing
Dice face 9 results in a curse
Dice faces 10 & 11 result in a blessing
The alchemy potion "Worship" removes the risk of curses. The dice faces that normally result in a curse will instead result in nothing for 1 prayer.
To pray, create a thread with the label "Praying" naming which god your character wishes to beseech, write a 200-400 word IC post describing your character's personal ritual, list if you are using "Seraphic Cathedral Choice" or "Seraphic Cathedral Sub-List Choice" items from the Underground, and select which cattle from your inventory you wish to sacrifice if you have multiple types. If using an item, it will only be activated and removed from your inventory if you receive a blessing or curse and actually utilize the item. Next, post in Invocation to alert staff. A staff member will remove the cattle from your account and then roll a dice with the number of faces matching which god you have chosen.
If your prayer results in a blessing or curse, a secondary dice is rolled to randomly select which you will receive unless predetermined by an item.
Several of the possible blessings and curses include multiple dice rolls to select from a sub-list unless predetermined by an item. For example, the blessing "sensory power" has 2 additional dice rolls to determine which category of sensory powers, such as auditory, and then which level within that category, such as level 2.
Should you receive an incorporeal alchemical ingredient, you must post a link to the selected contribution. You must also notify the chosen contribution creator by posting in their thread with a link to your prayer thread.
If you receive nothing, staff will archive the thread. If you receive a blessing or curse, they will update your account as applicable. Some effects are automatic and immediate, such as the addition or subtraction of coins from your account. Others require the recipient to post in Invocation to activate or remove the effect, such as applying a sensory power or healing an illness that expired.
A dice is rolled with the number of sensory power categories. After a category is selected, a secondary dice is rolled with 4 faces representing levels 1-4.
The stats will be added to a single field determined by a dice roll. If adding 30 stats to the field would exceed that field's maximum, the exceeding stats are added to a field chosen from a 2nd dice roll. If the 2nd field also exceeds its maximum, another roll will select a 3rd field for the overflowing stats, and the pattern will continue until all 30 stats are distributed. If a character's maximum amounts across all 8 fields cannot contain 30 stats, the extra stat upgrades will be added as an item to their inventory instead.
Face 1 - Constitution
Face 2 - Ranged
Face 3 - Combat
Face 4 - Strength
Face 5 - Agility
Face 6 - Stealth
Face 7 - Endurance
Face 8 - Speed
Face 9 - Your choice
Added to your inventory as an item. If you wish to apply the item, you must choose any existing companion contribution or create your own.
Will be added to the character's account immediately.
The stats will be removed from a single field determined by a dice roll. If subtracting 5 stats from the field would cause a negative number, the excessive stats are subtracted from a field chosen by a 2nd dice roll. If the 2nd field also reaches 0 prior to subtracting all excessive stats, another roll will select a 3rd field for the overflowing stats, and the pattern will continue until all 5 stats are subtracted.
The IC reasoning for your character’s imprisonment is that you have displeased the gods. All current IC threads are immediately paused while your character is incarcerated. After you have completed 1 thread within any of the Bastille's sub-boards, post in Invocation to have your cell sub-board removed and resume roleplaying as normal.
Will be removed from the character's account immediately. If the character does not have 30 coins, their total will be brought to 0.
Staff will create your healing thread in Delphic Provenance stating you have a cursed illness and update the "ailment" field in your mini-profile as "Cathedral Cursed Illness." Your treatment plan will require 2 treatment posts to fully heal. The symptoms of a curse illness are shortness of breath that may lead to fainting if exerted, spells of dizziness and blurry vision, rolling stomach pain, throbbing headache, muscle ache, sore throat, nasal congestion, and a high fever leading to occasional delusions.
Staff will create your healing thread in Delphic Provenance stating which version of the below cursed injuries you have sustained and update the "ailment" field in your mini-profile. Your treatment plan will require 2 treatment posts to fully heal. A secondary dice roll determines which type of injury your character will suffer:
Face 1 - loss of limb, chosen at random by staff
Face 2 - broken bone, chosen at random by staff
Face 3 - concussion leading to amnesia
Face 4 - muteness, deafness, or blindness, chosen at random by staff
Face 5 - stiffness, pain, and loss of fine motor control in all joints
