Eons ago there was a war amongst the mortals of Alcryst. Haucu, a black stallion covered in intricate blue swirls and the fiercest Domitan of the time, declared war on the humans after a human said they were superior to horses. It raged for many years, with horses invading cities and killing humans while they slept, and with humans killing every foal and mare they could get their hands upon. Up in the heavens, the immortal beings watched, wondering how to get them to create peace and work as one. It puzzled the immortals for some time, causing them to have a war of sorts with themselves. Adoyne suggested that she stop the growth of plants, making a unity that way. Melaya suggested a storm, full of destruction and mayhem. Rafyre suggested that the sun not set, creating unbearable conditions. Yet, it was the idea of Dakrym that they decided upon. He suggested that he stop the flow of the water. It would create no plants, land to crumble and fall, and unbearable conditions. The immortals agreed, knowing that it would work, with all of the beings enduring together, or that all the mortals being, humans and horses alike, would perish. Melaya created a massive rainstorm to give the world one last sprinkle of it's last force before Dakyrm stopped the waters. The immortals then waited to see how the world would deal it the punishment for the war they had created.
The mortals continued their war, approaching the 5th year, when both sides realized that were low on resources. Haucu began more vicious attacks on the humans, knowing they were one of the last sources of food. The humans were confused, as more crops wilted and their water began to disappear. They turned to their priests and their mercenaries, hoping for the best. One mercenary, Calix Arigan, a man known for his long white hair, and his multiple tattoos, which left only his face untouched by the ink, stepped forward with an idea. He said they needed to work together and the humans laughed at him, calling him crazy, so that night he went and met with the Domitan. He explained the situation and stated that they needed to endure this together, that was the only way they could all survive. Haucu agreed, much to the dismay of many of his followers. The horses walked back to the camp with Calix, and asked for a peace agreement so they could survive and endure it together. Dakrym saw this but he didn't care to start the water again, wanting to push them all to the limit. So while the immortals argued, the mortals tried to survive.
While hardship and starvation faced them, Calix and Haucu became friends. One fateful evening, Haucu allowed Calix to ride upon his back, insisting a ride to his destination would be easier on his body than a walk. That simple gesture was when the mortals discovered something they called an Energy Ability. The bond created an ice ability. Calix and Haucu could create frost when not together, and full ice rinks and icebergs when together. This ice gave them the water they were so desperately needing. Slowly other humans and horses bonded, creating abilities beyond imagination. It was then that the immortals agreed to begin the flow of water again. So Melaya caused a thunder storm, the first to be seen in the world of Alcryst for almost 3 years, while Dakrym started the flow of water again. The mortals rejoiced, knowing that the immortals were pleased with them again. Since then, the humans and horses of Alcryst have been bonding to create this abilities, changing the world, and our very existence as we know it.
