Excalitarn Procedures

The Tarnic mists are full of secrets but one lurks as a ghost beneath the still waters. Her croon fills the smog, gliding through the shoreline in an eternal song. The lady of the lake appears only to the chosen few, those ready to face their own demons.

The lady of the lake demands you prove yourself worthy to upgrade your stats through her magic. To win her favor, you must undergo the Rite of Excalitarn: a duel against an identical projection of yourself.
Both your character and their tangible projection are stripped of all defensive and offensive aids. Companions, clones, armor, powers, and any other addition beyond your basic appearance and stats are temporarily removed to guarantee combat based solely on your skills. These aids return immediately after the projection's death.
The tactics used to defeat the projection are your own decision, though you are not permitted one-hit kills. You must conceive a fairly creative scene using strategy, multiple attacks, and dodging to truly show your prowess. You are also judged on your grammatical accuracy, including punctuation, sentence structure, and spelling. There must be clear effort in your post.
To upgrade your stats, create a thread here with the label "Excalitarn" with a 500-750 word IC post describing how your character wins against their projection. After it is vanquished, post in Invocation to alert staff.
Staff will verify your duel was sufficiently detailed and then roll an 8-sided dice to determine which stat will be upgraded, as follows:

Face 1 - Constitution
Face 2 - Ranged
Face 3 - Combat
Face 4 - Strength
Face 5 - Agility
Face 6 - Stealth
Face 7 - Endurance
Face 8 - Speed

The resulting stat will receive 1 upgrade. Your thread will be archived by default. If you wish to continue roleplaying in your Excalitarn thread, you must inform staff in your original post.
This system may be used once every 72 hours.
