•• I N T E R E S T S



• Horses ;; I rode hunter-jumper for roughly 8 years and did a lot of showing. Unfortunately, I had to give that up as school (and life in general) got busier. I still love being around horses, and I volunteer weekly at a therapeutic riding clinic. =]

• Music ;; I'm active in both concert choir and show choir at my school, and I know how to play very basic trumpet (as in I spent a couple hours each day for five days--during a fun, extra term thing my school did--learning). I also listen to music constantly (I have a playlist going right now, actually). I try to keep an open mind, listening to anything from 1920s jazz to that newfangled dubstep/techno stuff. Heh, I'm a little lacking when it comes to technical terms. The only genres I avoid are country and most rap. =3 I'd love to hear your suggestions for groups/artists to check out!

• Reading ;; All the books, they must be read. I'm (slowly) making my way through the classics, from Sherlock Holmes to The Great Gatsby. I tend to lean towards fantasy books, and I'll list some of my favorite authors below, but I've recently been getting into some YA stuff, too. You should also tell me what to read. -nods-

• Writing ;; Whoa, who saw this one coming?! I mean, this is why I'm here, after all. It saddens me that we get to do so little creative writing in school, so sites like Alcryst are the perfect opportunity for me to entertain my creative side.

• Science ;; I'm owning up to my nerd status here. I think science in general is absolutely fascinating, especially genetics and behavioral psychology-type stuff. I'll probably end up studying something science-related when I go to college, so if you have any advice, horror stories, etc. to share with me, do send me a message!
