Leather soles touched the fine pebbles as the figure quietly walked along. Zidos took a deep breath and exhaled, taking in the wild in every sense he could. His dark brown boots seemed to move him swiftly across the mix of pebble and weeds that made up this landscape, even when he was walking slow. He was merely here to climb his favourite formation and sit upon it, as he had done since he was a young boy. Zidos kept his ears open, making sure that no horse would sneak up upon him and try to devour him. They were a nuisance, but once captured they were apparently glorious. He shook his head at the thought and kept walking, trying to free his mind. Work was beginning to take a toll so he knew he needed a break to his happy place, his hidden oasis. He walked to a certain rock, flat on the top, and facing towards the lake. He ran his muscular hands over it, his fingers finding the grooves of his and his mother's initials. He knelt beside the stone, his light tan pants touching the pebbles and attracting dirt. Zidos closed his eyes, imagining his mother once again.
The sun was overhead, sunning bright upon the two humans. Zidos held Arany's hand as they both laughed at a joke she had just said. Her blue eyes were alive and shining, her orangey-blonde hair bouncing in curls upon her shoulders. She ruffled up his blue hair, and Zidos giggled and then ran ahead. He stopped at the rock and sat on it, watching his mother finish her walk to the same one.
"Look mom! Our initials are still here!" A smile spread on Zidos' face as Arany placed her hand on his shoulder. He looked up at her and she placed her hand under his chin, holding it with her delicate hand. "Stone lasts forever so our initials in it will as well. You know what else lasts forever?" Zidos smiled. "What mother?" Arany leaned down and hugged him, resting her forehead on his so she could kiss his nose. "My love for you, Zidos." She kissed him on the tip of his nose and he let out a giggle before he was off and running again.
Zidos could feel the sun on his skin like it was happening then and there. He felt her kiss his nose, and could feel her scent begin to make it's way in his nostrils. He let out a sigh and opened his eyes again as he heard some birds overhead. He missed her more than he could ever explain. His mother had always been his best friend. He stood up and finished walking to the formation. It seemed to be in the shape of a horse, but it was slightly different. He placed his calloused hand upon the stone, looking for the edge he always used. His fingers found it, and he began his ascend upon the stone.
He lifted himself up on the top, brushing off the various twigs and leaves that scattered it. He sat upon it, letting his legs hang over. His hands brushed their dirt off on his navy blue shirt, it all kind of blended in, making his shirt look darker in certain spots. The sun was shining but the sky was beginning to change to the evening, bringing with it the art show of the sky. The sun would create a blend of oranges, pinks, yellows, and reds, all brought together to end another day in Alcryst. A sigh escaped him as he felt free, his childhood memories bouncing around in his mind. As he closed his eyes again he heard a noise, causing him to turn his head to see the source of the sound.
