I. To register, click on "profile" to the bottom right of the cbox.
II. Match your cbox name with your ooc account's display name.
III. Alcryst is home to any and all, so please refrain from ignoring or excluding guests and members or forming cliques.
IV. No IC soliciation or advertisement.
V. It is impolite to pressure someone into posting if it seems to make them uncomfortable. Err on the side of caution whenever unsure.
VI. To let someone know you posted for them, please tag them in your thread so they receive proper notification, rather than alerting them each time with the cbox.
VII. If you feel ignored, do your best to involve yourself in the conversation. Should you still seem excluded despite your true efforts, message a staff member or use our Grievances board so we can help ensure this doesn't happen again, to you or anyone else. A friendly community is important to us! Don't worry, we will always be discreet and professional.
VIII. We are all friends and certainly want to share with one another, but please keep awkward topics to more appropriate areas, like Palaver, an instant messenger, or private messaging, whenever possible. Though there's no black-and-white description, such conversations may be overly personal, particularly dark or depressive, uncomfortably vulgar, clearly one-sided or unappreciated, highly controversial like religion or politics, combative, exclusive, or otherwise cause a sense of tension.
IX. If a guest or new member has a question, try to cite sources when answering (such as a link to an official thread) or let a staff member handle it. We don't want incorrect information passed along!
X. Should a troll or troublemaker post in the cbox, ignore them and promptly message a staff member so we can ban them. It's key that you don't respond to them! That just feeds the nasty little creatures.
XI. Don't ask a staff member to perform a staff task through the cbox. Task requests should be made through Invocation. Feel free to alert staff when you first post a new Invocation thread, though, as they might've missed it.
The golden rule is simple:
Treat everyone with the respect you desire.
Don't pester, pressure, or push...
And treat everyone with a smile. :)
I. You may post any Alcryst-related promotions in the adbox. This includes but is not limited to: plots, roleplay threads, IC or OOC contests/games, occupational services, wanted ads, shop sales, art/code requests/sales, herds, guilds, and anything else that requires other members to participate or view.
II. The adbox may only be used for advertisement. You may not respond in the adbox nor may you discuss its content in the cbox. Feel free to make use of threads and PMs to converse on the topic.
III. Advertisements must be posted by the account most logically related to them. For example, a stand sale would be posted by the merchant's account.
IV. There is a limit of 1 post per collective advertisement, meaning you have 256 characters to convey your message and may not continue onto a 2nd post. This includes links. Note: you can remove board/thread names from the end of Alcryst URLs and they will still function so long as the ID number is intact. For example, http://alcryst.forums.net/board/1 is a functioning link despite the removal of the board name.
V. The adbox shows up to 20 posts. There may only be 1 visible post advertising the same event at a time. Therefore, you may repost the same promotion once your original post expires. You may also delete and repost your advertisement, effectively bumping it to the top, once a week at most.
VI. To delete a post, click on the X to the far right of your post. To edit one, hover your cursor over your post and select the "edit" option that appears. Deleted posts disappear immediately without confirmation and are not retrievable. Edited posts say [edited] to the left of their timestamp.
VII.Classifieds contains a comprehensive list of what may be advertised as well as additional solicitation options.

Winter until ##/##/##
Winter has frosted Alcryst like the cold blush of a corpse, hardening every surface with frigid ice searing through the depths of its heart. The plants are lethargic and slow, the sky is desaturated and dull, and the wind is a violent gale ripping apart flesh and soil alike.

Alcryst is a raw, passionate world and in such ambition and greed, violence takes root. All fighting is centered around one deciding factor: Stats. They are incorporated in all accounts, used for both horses and humans, and there are many ways to increase your stats. There are opportunities to purchase higher levels or to upgrade through interactive IC boards.
It is very important to realize that the Margins and Ranges will change as the site grows.
Constitution is your overall health. It's not the total sum of your individual stats; rather, it's how fit you are in both body and mind. It weighs your wellness; if you're sick, diseased, or otherwise cursed, you'll have a lower Constitution. It's sort of your general capacity, whereas the other stats are specific capacities. Constitution governs and thus impacts all other stats. It is considered the most influential and important stat. If you have an extremely high Endurance stat, for example, but a very low Constitution, your stamina will be affected negatively despite the high Endurance. No matter how high your other stats are, a low Constitution will render you all but useless.
Combat is your close range fighting ability, also called melee. This is how well you can fight with short-range weapons, such as daggers, swords, axes, etc., along with physical fighting. Combat affects your instinct, experience, reflexes, and ability, but keep in mind that how fast you can move the weapon and how much force your blows have would depend on your Strength and Agility.
Ranged is your distanced fighting ability. This is how well you can fight with far-ranged weapons, such as spears, throwing daggers, bows, etc., along with most magic Powers. Ranged affects your instinct, experience, reflexes, and ability, but keep in mind that how far you can throw your weapon, how much force it has, and how fast you can throw it depends on your Strength and Agility.
Strength is the force in your movements. This is how hard you can hit, how much you can lift, how much you can push or pull, and this also affects some of the other stats, such as Ranged and Combat. You must have a high Strength value to be muscular.
Agility is the nimbleness in your movements and your how responsive your instincts are. It's how fast you react along with how fast you can react. From turning quickly to catching something, Agility is evident in every action. Agility and Speed are greatly tied together, as you need swiftness to move fast but you need Agility to react fast.
Stealth is the silence with which you move. How quiet you walk, how well you blend into the shadows, how still you can hold yourself, all of it is controlled by the limit of your Stealth. The higher the stat, the less likely you will be detected, and those with an extremely high stat may find they can walk into a room in broad daylight with little attention drawn to themselves. You must have a high Stealth value to be graceful.
Endurance is how long you can do any physical activity. From walking to fighting, the length that you can persist is determined by your stamina. If you have a low Endurance, you run out of breath fast and experience muscle burn sooner; you will have to cease the action quicker than if you had a higher Endurance. As you tire, it begins to influence your other stats--for example, even if you have a high Strength value, as you become exerted, you become weaker.
Speed is how fast you can travel. Although how fast you can react or turn is determined by your Agility and how long you can move for is decided by your Endurance, how fast you move in general is controlled by your Speed. For example, the higher your Speed, the swifter you can run from point A to point B.
The Difference Margins are how many numbers separate two characters' Stats and help you understand how it will impact your interaction. For example, your character may have a Speed stat of 10 and another character may have a Speed stat of 18--how much difference is there in your capabilities, then? This chart explains how large the gap must be to begin affecting your interaction and to what level it would influence.
Keep in mind that these are the general gaps but that every increase in a single number grants advantage. Someone who is only 1 integer above you will have the upperhand; these particular gaps are used to simply give you something to reference.
#-# (this represents how many numbers separate the two characters)
This gap is (this word demonstrates how obvious the difference is in every interaction) and is (this word demonstrates how much difficulty the disadvantaged character would have in beating the advantaged character through more creative attacks, etc.) to overcome.
This gap is nearly undetectable and is easy to overcome.
This gap is noticeable and moderately easy to overcome.
This gap is apparent and can be difficult to overcome.
This gap is blatant and is very difficult to overcome.
This gap is dominating and is almost impossible to overcome.
This gap is overwhelming and is almost unimaginable to overcome.
This gap is crushing and is impossible to overcome.
Average Ranges distinguish what number is considered a "high," "normal," and "low" amount of stats. Keep in mind these Averages are constantly changing. As the highest-stat character increases, so will the ranges. The below values will be updated as the Averages change on Alcryst. Please understand that the range you fall within does not define your character's worth; those in a higher range have worked very hard for their stats, as nothing can be gained without effort, expense, and experience. When you first begin, you will be low, where we all start. It will take time and energy to ascend, but if you try, and try hard, you will. It is equal opportunity to all.
potential: let characters pick 1 stat that they can have a 50-stat higher limit in when they create the character. If we feel horses are still too disadvantaged at the end of all changes, it can be only horses that get to pick this extra high limit stat. If they feel equal enough, horses and humans can both pick one. It would be marked in their mini-profile under their stats in a horizontal cell and would have a record in Clandestine, perhaps, but definitely have a field in their biography like preset stats.
Make max caps different based on species. Each has a total of 1650. For, I forget their name, the two-species contribution feature that is being currently added, they can have some sort of in-between for the two variation.
Constitution 250 Combat 200 Ranged 150 Strength 250 Agility 150 Stealth 150 Endurance 250 Speed 250 ^^ total is 1,650 for horses right now. if that changes, then update the rules for rebirth because it currently uses it as criteria and mentions the total capacity if the total changes, I also need to update milestone badges gold and silver qualifications
stealth stat affects lock picking (just an idea for how to help flesh these out beyond the obvious) also how still you can be to blend in better (could swear they were part of the very wall they lean against) can even silence their body so people with insane perception/magic can't hear them, i.e. no pulse or breathing or blinking. how well you can see in the dark - it's like seeing in broad daylight in even the darkest possible areas. Flexibility.
combat - knowledge of where to hit in anatomy and such for the best effect, reflexes, instinct
agility - perception, observation, subconscious instinct and peripherals. Notice the tiniest movement, far away, directly behind you. Notice the smallest change in expression, temperature, lighting, everything. It can be uncanny and feel like magic in itself. Notice the smallest differences in things (something was even slightly touched in your room, an imposter has a slightly unusual twang in their voice, smoke from miles away)
endurance - ability to withstand pain and extreme conditions (i.e. super hot, super cold), remove need to sleep or eat or drink or breathe, see through even the most blinding lights, heal faster (perhaps alter some ailment healing shit so you heal faster with a higher stat?)
ranged - see better; see farther and see things that are smaller or more invisible normally, like dust particles in the air or the air puffing from a horse's nostrils. detect wind currents/patterns, incoming weather, temperature changes, and anything else that may affect how something ranged will aim. increased intuition in where a target may be about to move to, like good anticipation senses.
constitution - less likely to become sick, possibly totally immune to illness (Unless the roleplayer wants it) at a high enough level.
