So, in my head 'vampirism' is an illness, like catching the flu. "Goddammit, I came down with vampirism over the weekend!" xD
Can be caught as a site-given ailment (i.e. event, curse) or the roleplayer can choose they want it, which case post in this contribution thread to document and then "staff" will take care of it like they would if a member created this contribution. Can also be manually infected if another character manages to secure contaminated blood and get it onto the victim's system through a cut or orifice (must follow normal powerplay rules if doing this without roleplayer consent).

Symptoms:
- light sensitivity (easy sun burns, feeling of eyestrain, out of breath easily in daylight, light-headed when exposed too long, etc. Can even become unconscious if exposed for several hours in direct sunlight or develop more severe skin burns)

- increased aggression (still in control of self but traits of aggression, hostility, and violence emerge or are enhanced, as does their susceptibility to losing their temper)

- paleness (eyes, hair, and skin will all begin to lose color and turn more and more white as the illness progresses; will resemble a white-haired corpse if the illness is never treated, i.e. if their skin is naturally red it won't turn pure white but it would be a very pale peach by the end)

- nocturnal habits (reversed sleep schedule and difficulty maintaining a 'normal' sleep schedule will begin to emerge the longer they're ill, largely due to the energy boost nighttime gives them and the exhaustion daylight causes)

- appetite (beyond thirst for blood, their general "sin" appetite is increased; they want a lot of sex, a lot of violence, a lot of lying, a lot of gambling, a lot of gluttony, the whole nine yards; someone experiencing vampirism for long enough could have a complete reversal of their normal personality, which can have lingering effects even after being cured, though if it's permanent is up to the roleplayer)

- thick blood (their blood slowly becomes more and more like sludge over time, leading to lethargy, difficulty bleeding, cold temperatures, etc.; this leads to them liking activities that pump their blood such as adrenaline-inducing events, going upside down, exercise, etc., and can make them very restless and uncomfortable if they are still for too long)

- repulsion (instinctive repulsion of things that might not have bothered them before, such as sweet smells, bright colors, children, fire, heat, crowds, music, etc.)

- skin sensitivity (they become far more sensitive to "touch"; what might have tickled before might now hurt, bumping into them feels highly unpleasant for them, they can feel the smallest touch/sensation on their skin, etc. No other senses are heightened and these must be sensitive in a painful way)

- thirst (need to drink blood; water/food no longer has any appeal, elixir can actually make them sick and will not work on them in the intended way, all negative symptoms get worse the longer they wait to drink blood and are 'refreshed' each time they drink; intense, nearly overwhelming compulsion to drink blood at least once a thread and absolute necessity to drink at least once every 3 threads at risk of death/coma)

How do the fangs work? Probably Supernatural-style where they have normal teeth until "aroused" (in a thirst way, though sexual overtones are frequently present) at which point fangs come from their gums (painful for them) that allow them to effectively pierce the flesh. Or should we avoid the fangs entirely? If it's an illness, how and why do they suddenly develop fangs? Maybe they just have to get the blood however they decide. Some might use a knife, some might sharpen their teeth for this purpose, some might just... tear with their hands and teeth and everything they have. Could be fun to see how people do it and lets people have a cool "contrast"--character starts off with a nice sharp dagger, always apologizing and embarrassed and ashamed, and at the end is ripping out throats with their teeth and grinning at strangers through the bloody teeth. >D I may have issues.

Blood must be consumed from Cattle (Human/Tamed Horse) or a Mark (Tamed Horse if possible/Wild Horse). Drinking from another character IC would also count, though a 'full dose' requires them to drain the host and to avoid killing the other character, they'd only be able to take a half-dose, meaning 2 characters would be needed to count toward 1 requirement. They can drink blood from NPCs for plot purposes but it will not affect the illness, such as weakening negative symptoms, getting them closer toward being healthy, or putting off death/coma.

Required to drink from at least 3 separate hosts (explained above) in order to "heal"? Might increase the amount of hosts required or leave it as "varying" depending on how severe your illness is. Could be decided by a dice roll with 3-6 faces how many hosts they must drink from.

Should there be potential for vampirism to become permanent? At what point would it be? Maybe if you're told they need to feed off 4 hosts to fully heal within 30 days and they don't complete it in time, the vampirism becomes a permanent disease? Being a vampire probably shouldn't be forced on anyone and if they can't afford hosts or they are inactive for a period, they shouldn't wind up with a permanent vampire for that, but some people might /want/ a vampire and they need to have a way to make it permanent voluntarily. Or should vampirism be something that can be permanent involuntarily as well? With how severely it affects the character, if permanence can happen involuntarily, it should at least be difficult to have it happen and not rely on their coin amount/activity so steeply.

picturing someone selling their vampiric blood and forming a Guild as their nest xD ploooooot potential everywhere! or a really sweet character that turns slowly darker and more evil and such over time, ends up eating her parents or something, I don't know. Starts drinking blood because she has to and slowly starts to love and crave it and starts doing it as sport, hunting humans and even turning cannibalistic on top of vampiric. bwuahahaha
