Is known to thrive in damp, dark caves where they lay dormant until they resurface to hunt down creatures to feed on their blood. Is a pack animal, so it lives in large family groups of up to 20 animals. Hunts together both in the sky and in the water. Can bring down decent sized animals like cattle. Are often found in dungeons as corpses are plenty and blood is easy to come by. Does not like to stay out in the sun for a long period of time.

Has a strict hierarchy within the family, where the males are secondary to the females. There is no difference between the sizes of males and females. Can have any color imaginable, alongside patterns, but does not have fur. Their skin resembles that of a snake with tiny scales. Has razor sharp teeth to puncture the skin of their victims. Their saliva has a component that prolongs the bleeding, which is the number one reason for why a handful of Venn's can kill large beast by bleeding them dry.

They are not known to be good companions, even though exceptions do occur. Mostly they keep to themselves. Has the ability to get into tiny places as long as their head can fit through an opening. Their wings are kept as close to their body as possible at all times, except for when they are flying or in a fight. The spikes on their lower half of their body (from each of their wings) can lay flat and is mostly used for protection, as it's as sharp as their teeth. One stroke can easily cut open bare skin and even through fur. The claws are used for digging through the soil.

Venns stay together in breeding pairs, often for life, and will only find a new mate if the old one died. A pair can breed twice a year and the female will lay a few dozen eggs the size of pebbles. These will grow a little and change appearance during the first day, changing from an egg color to looking like stones. The appearance of the eggs depends on the temperature in the lair and where it is located. The hotter it is, the more shining and gem like it appears. This is the reason why venn eggs are sought after, as they keep their appearance if being boiled in salt water. The female and male take turn in watching over the eggs the first few weeks, then they leave the nest to feed. This is when it's the best time to get to the eggs, as it only takes 6 weeks for them to hatch. The best way to get to a venn lair, is using another venn, especially if it's from another area. A pair of venns from the same family will not touch the eggs belonging to a family member, but they will destroy them if it's from another family. Unless it's been trained to do otherwise.
