I. To register, click on "profile" to the bottom right of the cbox.
II. Match your cbox name with your ooc account's display name.
III. Alcryst is home to any and all, so please refrain from ignoring or excluding guests and members or forming cliques.
IV. No IC soliciation or advertisement.
V. It is impolite to pressure someone into posting if it seems to make them uncomfortable. Err on the side of caution whenever unsure.
VI. To let someone know you posted for them, please tag them in your thread so they receive proper notification, rather than alerting them each time with the cbox.
VII. If you feel ignored, do your best to involve yourself in the conversation. Should you still seem excluded despite your true efforts, message a staff member or use our Grievances board so we can help ensure this doesn't happen again, to you or anyone else. A friendly community is important to us! Don't worry, we will always be discreet and professional.
VIII. We are all friends and certainly want to share with one another, but please keep awkward topics to more appropriate areas, like Palaver, an instant messenger, or private messaging, whenever possible. Though there's no black-and-white description, such conversations may be overly personal, particularly dark or depressive, uncomfortably vulgar, clearly one-sided or unappreciated, highly controversial like religion or politics, combative, exclusive, or otherwise cause a sense of tension.
IX. If a guest or new member has a question, try to cite sources when answering (such as a link to an official thread) or let a staff member handle it. We don't want incorrect information passed along!
X. Should a troll or troublemaker post in the cbox, ignore them and promptly message a staff member so we can ban them. It's key that you don't respond to them! That just feeds the nasty little creatures.
XI. Don't ask a staff member to perform a staff task through the cbox. Task requests should be made through Invocation. Feel free to alert staff when you first post a new Invocation thread, though, as they might've missed it.
The golden rule is simple:
Treat everyone with the respect you desire.
Don't pester, pressure, or push...
And treat everyone with a smile. :)
I. You may post any Alcryst-related promotions in the adbox. This includes but is not limited to: plots, roleplay threads, IC or OOC contests/games, occupational services, wanted ads, shop sales, art/code requests/sales, herds, guilds, and anything else that requires other members to participate or view.
II. The adbox may only be used for advertisement. You may not respond in the adbox nor may you discuss its content in the cbox. Feel free to make use of threads and PMs to converse on the topic.
III. Advertisements must be posted by the account most logically related to them. For example, a stand sale would be posted by the merchant's account.
IV. There is a limit of 1 post per collective advertisement, meaning you have 256 characters to convey your message and may not continue onto a 2nd post. This includes links. Note: you can remove board/thread names from the end of Alcryst URLs and they will still function so long as the ID number is intact. For example, http://alcryst.forums.net/board/1 is a functioning link despite the removal of the board name.
V. The adbox shows up to 20 posts. There may only be 1 visible post advertising the same event at a time. Therefore, you may repost the same promotion once your original post expires. You may also delete and repost your advertisement, effectively bumping it to the top, once a week at most.
VI. To delete a post, click on the X to the far right of your post. To edit one, hover your cursor over your post and select the "edit" option that appears. Deleted posts disappear immediately without confirmation and are not retrievable. Edited posts say [edited] to the left of their timestamp.
VII.Classifieds contains a comprehensive list of what may be advertised as well as additional solicitation options.

Winter until ##/##/##
Winter has frosted Alcryst like the cold blush of a corpse, hardening every surface with frigid ice searing through the depths of its heart. The plants are lethargic and slow, the sky is desaturated and dull, and the wind is a violent gale ripping apart flesh and soil alike.

Here, the unwanted are... well, tolerated. Home to the lost children of Alcryst, the wards are sheltered by both brick and strict rules, providing food and a warm bed in exchange for obedience. Mandatory for all underage humans, there are many birds who lose their voice in this cage and find it easier to take flight--chased by the law at their heels.
The orphanage is a site-run operation where all human character minors (under 36 years old) must reside if they do not have at least 1 biological parent character on the site, even those with Morrene residency. Parent characters must be accepted in Inception and may not be NPCs. All other non-parental legal guardians, including biological relationships such as an aunt or older sibling, must undergo the legitimate adoption procedure outlined in the following tab.
Each orphan receives a bedroom as a sub-board in the main Sanguine Orphanage board, alone or with roommates as preferred. After the orphan's biography is accepted in Inception, post in Invocation choosing between a single, double, or triple and list any specific roommates you do or do not want, or ask staff to select at random. If you request a specific roommate, their roleplayer must approve before the characters are housed together. You may change roommates or room capacity by posting in Invocation at any time.
Orphans may roleplay freely in Faewin or Morrene between dawn and dusk. The orphanage asserts a set curfew at nightfall and restriction from the outskirts or wilderness without an adult escort. Breaking these rules will result in restriction to the orphanage and its grounds for several days, dictated by a certain number of completed threads based on the severity of the infraction. Severe transgressions, such as committing a crime, escaping, or leaving during a restriction to the grounds, will result in brief imprisonment in the Bastille.
In accordance with Faewin law, orphans are not governed OOC and will not receive staff interference. All infractions of rules, escapes, and other violations must be reported by another witnessing character. If an orphan is reported as missing, the city will issue a warrant for interested mercenaries to retrieve the offender.
Orphanage officials are NPCs and may be included in roleplaying posts. Mercenaries may be hired as guards to prevent escape and enforce curfew, as detailed in the final tab.
At age 36, characters are released from the orphanage as a legal adult and are relieved from its rules. Post in Invocation to alert staff when your character comes of age so their bedroom may be emptied.
It must be at least 30 days after their biography was accepted.
Must have at least 15 posts.
Although multiple characters may participate in raising the child, such as a married couple, only 1 may be the legal guardian.
There is not a limit on how many orphans a single character may adopt if they continue to meet the basic requirements for each adoption.
To adopt an orphan, post in Invocation tagging the IC and OOC account of the orphan you wish to adopt. Staff will verify you match the requirements and empty their bedroom sub-board. You must update the field "Offspring" with the name of your new ward in your account under edit profile > personal.
Adoption does not require the consent of the orphan.
Guardians may return their ward to the orphanage at their discretion.
Legal guardians take full responsibility for the care and discipline of their ward. If their ward has repeated trouble with the law or is found neglected, the guardian faces legal repercussions as dictated in the Faewin Lawbook.
Biological parents may draft a will through a lawyer to choose their child's consenting guardian.
Upon coming of age, the rights of a legal guardian are nullified and the adult orphan has full autonomy.
Biological parents may relinquish their child to the orphanage, thus forfeiting all parental rights. Though they are allowed to later adopt the child, they must undergo the full legitimate adoption procedure and meet all requirements.
Relinquishment does not require the consent of the child or their roleplayer. If there are 2 biological parent characters, both must publicly consent.
To relinquish a child to the orphanage, post in Invocation tagging the orphan's IC and OOC account if they are owned by another roleplayer.
Guard Positions Open: 0full name goes here - due by ##/##/####
If a child has escaped from the orphanage, Faewin will issue a warrant which any mercenary may fulfill by following the standard protocol as outlined in the Bastille. Mercenaries require a set of handcuffs purchased from a merchant in the Galleria in order to capture any escaped orphans.
Sanguine Orphanage also hires mercenaries to act as guards to prevent escape and enforce curfew. As the institution accepts more orphans, their need for mercenaries grows; therefore, a new mercenary position is opened for every 2 orphans. If the number of orphans is reduced, any current mercenaries will remain employed but further positions will not be opened until the amount of orphans exceeds the amount of mercenaries by 2.
To become an Orphanage guard, you must meet the following criteria:
Your biography was accepted at least 30 days ago.
You can link to at least 10 separate mercenary services you have completed; for example, if another character hires your mercenary as a private investigator or if you successfully retrieve a fugitive.
You have at least 30 posts.
To apply for an open guard position, post in Invocation and link to any relevant threads as proof for your mercenary services.
Guards must make at least 1 IC guard post with a minimum of 200 words each week, any day beginning with Monday and ending with Sunday. You may post in the main Sanguine Orphanage board or any of its sub-boards using the label "Guarding" and then alerting staff through Invocation. Guard posts may be used in a roleplaying thread or as a standalone post. If making a standalone post, notify staff of your intent so they will archive the thread. Guards may interact with orphan NPCs, roleplay with other characters, survey the grounds or rooms, or otherwise patrol.
